As you can see the list above, some cities in Canada such as Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal are in the list number 54, 64, and 72 (Typed in bold and red). It means that the living costs in those cities are quite cheap compared with other cities in America and Europe.
I also have a friend who lived in Canada her name is Gabriella A Hutagalung. She is the marketing director at Gado-gado Indonesian Association of UBC (GISAU). She told me about her experience in Canada trough email. She is lived in Vancouver.
She said that in her first year, she lived in Prince George (The Capital of Northern BC). There is no Indonesian in there, and you can still feel the Canadian taste in their culture, food, also fashion.
According to her, about 40% who lives in Vancouver are the foreigners, there are also a non-Canadian who born here. That’s why the people of Vancouver are very welcome to other culture.
She also said that the security in Canada is better than the nearest neighbour (US). She often travelled to US and backed to Canada, and she feel saver in Canada. When she was lived in Indonesia, she often felt scared when she walked down the street in the night, but now when she lives in Canada, she feel very safe to travel around the city.
She also said that that Canadian is educated people, so it would be a big shame if they do something that breaks the rules. And about the cleanliness the Canadian are very strict, that’s why the city is very clean.
After knowing all the things about Canada, I hope my country Indonesia can be better country, just like Canada. How to do it? We can do a simple things like be discipline about cleanliness, I feel very sad when I see my city (Jakarta) is very dirty, I hope in the next 10-15 years Indonesia will be a better country. So I think it’s our job as Indonesian to make our beloved country to be a better country.
I think that’s all for now, hope you enjoy reading my entry... Thanks... :)
